My Goodreads

WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA FOR YOUR MOST RECENT BOOK?

I got the idea for my most recent book from the Nigeria political dramas of these recent years. Not a few of the scene are interesting. On the road to democracy, head of states set boundaries for electoral commissions and limited the scope of the court of law. Public treasuries are looted with impunity. Anti corruption commissions are not allowed to run their shows within their own jurisdictions. Known criminals are rigged or appointed into government offices. And the law is warned not to 'touch any of these anointed.' This political havoc is encapsulated in Daggers in a Teacup.
There is notwithstanding, something about Nigeria the world must know. This is about the people and their culture. Probably, her culture is among the richest in the world. In addition, visitors from all over the globe have said that Nigeria has the best people in the world.
Finally, the nation's prospects are considered bright with good reasons. This too was looked into and spotlighted.

HOW DO YOU GET INSPIRED TO WRITE?

I am happy to be living at this time. The present history of Nigeria is so interesting. By staying awake to the goings-on of the society, there is so much to write on. For example, to many parents, marriage is a business venture. Churches have taken over the superstitions of African traditional priests and are leading businesses in the nation. Child's training is viewed by parents not as responsibility, but as investment. Public servants prowled about with drawn daggers to quell the ordinary citizen in case he knows too much. With all humility and intelctual honesty, Nigeria is still struggling to find its bearing. This is chaotic. The political evolutions with their incomplete metamorphosis often yield interesting conflicts that delight the pens of we writers. Now who is going to say that Nigeria is under democratic rule? It is confusion. The nation is trapped in between dictatorship and democracy.
The list is endless but the time to write is limited. I have a strong aversion for injustice. So when I am filled with revulsion there is something informative to write.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?

I am working on a story I have suspended outside this new series. Sound, smell, sight and touch are often linked with romantic pull and attraction between two persons of the opposite sex. This experimental fiction I am currently working on intends to investigate the prominence of the role of language. Suppose that a set of persons of the opposite sex are of age but innocent, without civilization and language. Would their carnal persons begin to speak for themselves against these barriers? The title is Stolen Babies which is probably not the final title. I will only begin to write Sons of Eagle book two after concluding Stolen Babies.

WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR ASPIRING WRITERS?

Aspiring writers should not be in a hurry to unleash the good things pent up in their minds. Of course, the burning zeal within might be too hot to contain for long. Still, a reasonable amount of time is needed to organize thoughts and ideas if they must come in appealing array. Apart from that, writing is not a difficult thing to do. It is simply about creating and resolving conflicts. If the conflicts are clear in the writer's mind, then he should endeavour to know his target audience sufficiently well in order to ensure that his means of resolving the conflicts is not only sustained throughout the work, but also informative to the audience. Then he could go ahead.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING A WRITER?

A writer is often a happy and satisfied person. This feeling of fulfilment is not primarily as a result of money made from writing. It is being able to do what one likes and enjoys doing. This emotional benefit is often intense especially when the writer's works enjoy good readership, discussion and recommendations.
